With a video that is not exactly in-depth, with effects very similar to the ‘historical’ ones of Windows Media Player, Mercedes has announced a 761 horsepower electric AMG model, which will be unveiled on 5 September and therefore just before the official start of the IAA Mobility exhibition in Munich. Leaving aside the graphics, Mercedes has staked everything on the ‘sound’ of this electric, presumably the AMG version of the EQS, using the phrase “anything but quiet“. A way of saying that even battery-powered cars can give auditory emotions like endothermic ones, whose future is substantially marked by the rules on emissions.

An electric 761 horsepower Mercedes that goes from zero to one hundred in 3.4 seconds, with AMG logos appearing everywhere, is not to be underestimated anyway.. On the EQS, in particular, spy photos have already circulated online, even in the Nurburgring area. Previous reports spoke of a 600 horsepower car. The official tweet talks about the ‘sound of the future’ and the electric that has found ‘its voice’. As BMW is doing, which even involved Hans Zimmer to study the musicality of electric cars, Mercedes may have fielded equally formidable talents. Meanwhile, he has named the famous artist Will.i.am as testimonial of AMG electrified cars: if he were to think of the sound of electric cars in Stuttgart, it would probably be an unreleased ‘beat’.
