Counter, a film directed by Gavin O’Connor, arrived in 2016 to tell us about a drama with Ben Affleck as the main protagonist. Its successful premiere left viewers amazed by its surprising dose of action, intrigue and criminal underworld.
As we saw in the tape, Christian Wolff has a mild autism that makes him very meticulous with order and not very communicative, but at the same time he turns out to be a math genius. However, he also leads a double life as a ‘freelance’ accountant for some of the most dangerous criminal organizations in the world.
Five years after the premiere, Gavin o’connor confirmed that Warner Bros is already developing a sequel, during an interview on CinemaBlend’s Reelblend podcast. He also announced that the film will bring back Ben Affleck and Jon Bernthal.
“There won’t be a sequel to Way Back, but we are doing a sequel to El Contador. We literally closed that deal. I always wanted to do three because, with the second, we are going to integrate his brother into the story. So there will be more screen time for John Bernthal in the second, “he said.

After these words, the actor confessed that they are also planning a third installment. “I call her ‘Rain Man on steroids.’ The film will be about the two brothers, this strange couple. It will be a friend’s movie, ”detailed O’Connor.
At the moment, The Counter does not have a release date, since it is at a very early stage. It only remains to wait for more news about the production.
