The 5G is about to become the mobile generation that achieves fastest adoption ever, with subscriptions increasing at a rate of approximately one million per day.
Projections indicate that there will be 580 million users by the end of this year and that 60% of the population will have 5G coverage by the end of 2026, according to the Ericsson Mobility Report.
“With the 5G network we can download a movie to our smartphone in less than three seconds. Our car will be able to detect and navigate automatically avoiding obstacles on the road. Doctors will be able to perform complex surgical procedures using robots remotely. The cities will be able to collect omnipresent real-time information on traffic ”, they list from Telecom.
While in the country several models with 5G capacity have already been launched -such as the Samsung Galaxy S21, the Motorola Moto G 5G and the iPhone 12- and both Personal and Movistar advance with the tests, there are still some key points to be defined.

Tim Cook CEO of Apple, announced last year the arrival of 5G to their computers.
According to the report “The mobile economy in Latin America”, Argentina will adopt 5G by 9% by 2025. The new technology will coexist with the use of 4G by 72%. While other more optimistic estimates indicate that it will arrive in 2023.
Locally, the most important point still needs to be defined, which is the frequency that will be assigned for its operation and that will set the course for the services that may be offered.
The radioelectric spectrum is the “highways of the air” through which different signals travel. The Government of each country, through public auctions, is in charge of allocating that space, granting user licenses to the different companies.
“Among the structural factors, the need to define the frequencies that 5G will use in the country and what its allocation mechanism will be like. Also, it is important that the conditions that encourage deployment are createdfiber optic necessary to interconnect the network that will sustain the fifth generation ”, they contribute from Movistar.
