The 14th Dalai Lama stated that he needs 9 hours of sound sleep for his health. The Buddhist spiritual leader spoke about this during an online meeting with Indian doctors, a video of which was published by the foundation “Save Tibet“.
He explained that this is necessary for the calmness of the mind, which, in turn, contributes to the harmonization of the physical state.
“If our mind is indignant, disturbed by various emotions, then this also affects our physical condition. For example, blood pressure rises, we cannot sleep well, and so on. If we talk about me, since my mind is at rest, every night I sleep very calmly and deeply for 9 hours, ”the Dalai Lama said.
The Buddhist leader recalled talking to one of the politicians, who said that he slept for 4-5 hours a day, and he did not have enough time. The Dalai Lama drew attention to the fact that the sleep schedule should be comfortable for politicians and entrepreneurs, since this is the key to health and a clear mind.
