On Wednesday, residents of the southern part of Novomoskovskaya Kommunarka could see a weather phenomenon called “dusty devil”. Meteorologist, leading specialist of the Phobos weather center, Yevgeny Tishkovets, announced this on Wednesday, August 18, on his Instagram page.

“Dusty Devil” is an atmospheric phenomenon that occurs when the earth’s surface is very hot. The vortex movement of air collects dust, sand and small objects from the ground, forming a large sand vortex, the city news agency reports “Moscow“.
Earlier on Wednesday, a powerful thunderstorm with a downpour hit the southern part of Moscow, the west and the central districts of the city. At Moscow airports, about 70 flights were delayed and canceled due to bad weather.
