With protection, the victims of El Nogal await clarity on their case in the JEP

Before the Special Jurisdiction for Peace, the victims of the terrorist attack on the El Nogal club, in Bogotá, filed an action guardianship arguing the lack of clarity about the future of the case, after a first instance ruling ordered the JEP to open a macro case on the attack.

The transitional justice court challenged the decision and to date, the victims denounce that they have not been notified, despite having requested it, nor do they know if there is, or not, a decision on the appeal of the peace court.

According to the text of the guardianship in Blu Radio, the victims argue that, “in the present case it is possible to appreciate a clear omission on the part of the authority in question, in the terms of the immediately preceding rule, since that it has omitted its duty to give a prompt substantive response to the petition submitted, thus configuring an open violation of the right to petition and due process.”

They also point out, according to information from El Tiempo, their right to due process has been violated, because in response to their requests, the court of peace would have let the terms expire. Well, it is worth remembering the term of 30 business days that the JEP Appeals Section gave last March 9 to open new macro-cases of the jurisdiction on the crimes committed by the former FARC-EP, by members of the public force and other agents. of the State.
