They denounce crisis in Fencing and blame the COD

The Fencing Associations of Elías Pina, San Juan, Azua, San Francisco de Macorís, the province of Santo Domingo, San Pedro de Macorís and the National District accused  to the Committee Olympic Dominican (COD) of  be responsible for the crisis that the Dominican Fencing Federation is going through.  

They say that this entity  is not fulfilling the role or the legal provisions that govern it by refusing to hold the Ordinary Assembly with the stipulated registration to know the plans and financial report.  

Gilberto Soriano, president of the Fencing Association of the National District, who is a former National Fencing team and representative of most of the associations, expressed that in the Dominican Fencing Federation there is a de facto president.  

“The crisis that our Federation is going through is unfortunate, setting a disastrous precedent for the Dominican Olympic Movement , where the Committee The Executive of the COD has allowed a person to be above the law, the statutes of the Federation and the COD, and the resolutions of that body”.  

Associations that have raised their voices affirm that everything that happens in fencing is the strict responsibility of the Committee. Dominican Olympic, because in the past electoral process where the the current president,  Luis Ciprián, FEDOMES was intervened, the process was organized and directed jointly with the fencing associations; It was where the Committee Dominican Olympic endorsed and certified the registration of the associations and their names.
