Researchers analyzed the upper atmosphere of Venus and found traces of phosphine, which appear as waste products of living organisms, reports Chronicle.info with reference to the country.
Scientists noted that so far there are no other ways of producing phosphine on Earth other than waste products.
The element was found using the ALMA (Atacama Large Millimeter Array) radio telescope complex in Chile and the James Clerk Maxwell telescope in Hawaii. It is noted that gas can also be found in the atmosphere of gas giants, where it is formed under tremendous pressure, but on Venus, such chemical processes are unknown.
Scientists doubt the probable existence of even primitive living organisms on a hot planet with a toxic atmosphere. Therefore, researchers are counting on as yet unknown chemical processes.
