Police said in the evening that the container had been removed from the lane. However, the lane could not be used immediately due to asphalt damage.
Helsinki police reported on Saturday afternoon a truck container that had fallen halfway into the road at the intersection of Jätkasaarenlaituri and Mechelininkatu.
The container derailed from the ride of the moving truck closed one of the north-facing lanes on Mechelininkatu and caused inconvenience to the traffic driving in the direction of Hietaniemi.
Police said in the evening that the container had been removed from the lane. However, the lane could not be used immediately due to asphalt damage.

A criminal report has been made for the incident. The police are investigating the matter under the preliminary criminal title endangering traffic safety.
