One of the hypotheses that could respond to the disappearances of at least 71 people at kilometer 22 of the Nuevo Laredo-Monterrey highway it may be due to the fight between two criminal groups, explained Karla Quintana, National Search Commissioner.
“The first approach indicates that it is a struggle between the Northeast cartel, which is in that area, and the Jalisco Nueva Generación cartel that apparently wants to be entering and transporting some good that would have to reach Nuevo Laredo.
With these disappearances we are not saying that the missing persons were involved in this rather, they comply with the pattern that these groups are taking care of to control the area, “he explained.Read Also

In interview for MILENIO Television with Alejandro Domínguez, Quintana explained that most of the disappearances are of men and trailer drivers as private transportation and this phenomenon could exist as of October 2020.
Earlier, Quintana explained that Most of the 71 are drivers of freight transport and Uber services or taxis in general, which, he explained, It makes the authorities think that the concern is what is being transported by criminal groups.
Quintana recalled that Criminal groups in the northeast used illegal cremation of victims as a method of disappearance “with the intention of not leaving any traces of people.”
“The scientific opinion is that few of these remains may contain genetic material because they have been exposed to those temperatures, however, there have been some identifications with these charred remains,” Quintana explained.
