Two of the five assailants were arrested after trying to rob a MAC store in the Viña del Mar Mall, in the Valparaíso region. The other three fled.
Two detainees and three people on the run left a frustrated robbery inside the Viña del Mar Mall, Valparaíso region.
The incident occurred at approximately 10:30 a.m. this Saturday, when the group of five men entered the MAC store with the intention of robbing.
Records collected by Radio Bío Bío Valparaíso, detail that one of the subjects carried a weapon – presumably a firearm – with which he intimidated the shop assistants and the guards. The latter managed to stop two of the five assailants, after a struggle. The other three fled the scene.

Carabineros adopted the procedure to find the whereabouts of the trio who fled.

The service prefect of the Police Prefecture of Viña del Mar, Lieutenant Colonel Francisco Villablanca, explained that the detainees are from Santiago and have extensive police records.
Similarly, he specified that the company informed Carabineros that the robbery failed to materialize. In addition, no shots were fired and there were no injuries.
