The group got stuck yesterday due to bad weather under the Vincent Pyramid. After a first call to 112, which took place in the late afternoon, there was no further news of them until the evening, when they contacted the Central Unica del Soccorso. It was impossible to intervene with the helicopter, so a team from the Valle d’Aosta Alpine Rescue set out to rescue them, but the operations immediately appeared difficult due to the bad weather. The three were only reached around 9 pm: one climber died a few minutes later, the other was transported to the Mantova refuge where the doctor tried in vain to revive her. The young survivor told lastampa.it: “In five minutes the weather changed and the storm blocked us at high altitude. I remember the cold, so cold, I took off my gloves to give them to one of the two girls. possible to help the rescuers “.
