Wolff defends Hamilton: “More suitable setup in dry conditions” | FormulaPassion.it

A less brilliant result than usual for the English driver, who however finds an explanation in the words of the Mercedes team principal Toto Wolff. According to the Austrian manager, interviewed by Sky Sports, the obstacle on the performance of your first guide would be mainly due to the choice of a more suitable set-up under the conditions from dry, and not a bad day of the British: “You always play victory with Lewis – commented the number one of the German team – but we have a stronger car on the race pace, more suitable for dry conditions and faster on the straight. If the weather is still like this, we will run into problems. Conversely, we will have a good chance of success ”.

Regarding a question as to why the Red Bull it would seem more efficient in the wet during this world championship, Wolff wanted to focus on the advantages of the downforce: “It’s all related to this reason – has explained – they have a larger wing on the car, which obviously has advantages in these conditions ”.
