Apex Legends will land on PS5 And Xbox Series X | S with a native version thanks to a next-gen update currently in production at Respawn Entertainment.
The news was revealed by the director of communications of the development team, Ryan Rigney, who after declaring that the cross-progression of Apex Legends has been postponed to 2022 has also spent a few words on the upgrade for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X | S.
“Guys, I would love to have some news to share, but at the moment we can’t say anything definitive yet and so I can’t reveal anything,” Rigney wrote during a question-and-answer session on Reddit.
“Trust us, though – the Apex Legends update for PS5 and Xbox Series X | S is in the works, and we’re really excited about it too.”

In short, it is still early to know what will actually be introduced with the next-gen update of Respawn Entertainment’s battle royale, but we imagine that the first details about it will arrive in the coming weeks.
