Delays have become a custom in the video game industry, especially in recent months when developments have been hampered by the pandemic. Now we have known that Battlefield 2042 could delay its release, as pointed out by a rumor that should be made official in the next few hours. And it is that the well-known journalist Jeff Grubb has assured that a new delay will take place this same week. Several users close to the new DICE project have ensured that the game that Grubb refers to is precisely Battlefield 2042, currently scheduled for October 22.
I’ll add that I’m actually referring to a singular delay.
– Jeff Grubb (@JeffGrubb) September 15, 2021
Although its release is just over a month away, these have been Grubb’s words: “Welcome to the season of delays. There will be more delays this week. I must add that I am referring to a single delay ”. Just like points out the GamingBolt portal, users such as Dealer Gaming or Nick Baker have ensured that Battlefield 2042 will leave early 2022, while Tom Henderson believes that the delay will not be so bad and that Electronic Arts will only move its long-awaited multiplayer war shooter to end of november.

Battlefield 2042 shown in new gameplay and promises more soon
If it occurs, this delay would be added to the recently announced Dying Light 2, which will also be released now in 2022 and that leaves the remainder of 2021 somewhat orphaned of relevant releases. We just have to wait and see if Battlefield 2042 ends up confirming this delay that seems an open secret and that we can know how long it will be. For now, keep in mind that the new DICE is scheduled for October 22 and that it will come to Xbox Series X | S, Xbox One and other platforms.
