It will be available in Europe from next autumn, but can already be ordered at a price that starts at 70,900 euros in Italy. We are talking about the new BMW iX3, the electric SUV that recently underwent restyling. So many updates that the German car manufacturer has applied to the battery crossover, which we remember being the first model to have the technology Fifth generation BMW eDrive. The European premiere of the new BMW iX3 will be held during the IAA Mobility 2021 in Munich, while the start of production has been set for September 2021 in Shenyang, China.
From an aesthetic point of view, the new iX3 boasts a more distinctive front, embellished by the larger BMW kidney grille, around 10 millimeters thinner headlights and a redesigned front apron. More muscular finishes instead characterize the rear of the SUV, which is enhanced by the three-dimensional LED lights. The M Sport package is offered as standard, which includes M aerodynamic wheels in 20 “format available as an option as an alternative to the standard 19” aerodynamic wheels. Adaptive LED headlights are also standard, while the BMW Laserlight can be chosen as an option. Inside the cockpit a 12.3 ″ digital instrument panel stands out and a Control Display enlarged in line with the size of the car. Elsewhere the sports seats stand out in the new perforated Sensatec upholstery and the interior moldings in the new Aluminum Rhombicle dark finish as standard.
As for the engine aspect, the electric powertrain, transmission and power electronics are combined in one single housing in the rear axle subframe. The specifications speak for themselves: maximum power of 286 hp, maximum torque of 400 Nm, acceleration from 0 to 100 km / h in 6.8 seconds. Powering the whole thing is a model-specific high-voltage battery with a gross energy content of 80 kWh, offered together with a combined charging unit that allows fast charging in direct current. up to 150 kW. The autonomy guaranteed by a full tank of energy settles around 460 kilometers.
