There BMW M4 2021 is considered one of the best sports sedans on the market thanks to performance and record-breaking mechanics. Yet the Munich coupe is not as flawless as one might think. To dispel the myth of the M4 we have thought of the Km77 experts who have submitted it the high-performance model from BMW to the famous test of the Elk, obtaining a result that partly disappointed expectations. For this test a BMW M4 Competition was chosen, initially launched at 78 km / h at a “normal” speed, at which a Tesla Model 3 proved to be able to pass the test without too many worries.
BMW did, however, experience sudden oversteer when exiting one of the gearboxes direction, with the rear end of the German sports car that ended up knocking down two cones despite the pilot’s desperate attempts to counter-steer and check the rear sliding. Indeed, in an attempt to recover the trajectory, another cone was also shot down. The particularly surprising thing about the car’s behavior at its limits is that all traction and stability control systems were enabled at the time of testing. For the second attempt, the speed was reduced to 76 km / h and this time, the M4 Competition managed to pass the test safely, although a small loss of traction at the rear also occurred in this case.
The test results are interesting: most other cars subjected to the moose test push understeer first, rather than oversteer while in this case the opposite occurred. Km77 experts completed the test by subjecting the M4 Competition to a slalom, an exercise which was successfully completed at 78 km / h. The result of the M4 Competition did not live up to expectations, with the German super sportswoman having to pass all the tests without difficulty while instead showing a particular suffering in various situations.
