It seems that the Coachella festival is getting further and further . The organizers of the great musical event, which every year brings together dozens of international artists, are already thinking of holding the 21st edition in October next year , as a preventive measure against the health crisis that this 2020 devastated the whole world.
Sources close to the organizing company Goldenvoice declared, exclusively for Rolling Stone magazine, the new plans to develop the Coachella festival in the fall of 2021 , although there will be many modifications due to the times of each exponent.
According to this person, the date chosen to hold the famous event will be during the first or second week of October next year , although they also contemplate the third week of the same month so as not to be limited in time.
“Frankly, they were supposed to announce (the change) on Labor Day. They had not. And they were supposed to announce it at the end of September, they hadn't … but it would be running for the first three weeks to be sure, “commented this anonymous source, who heard confirmation from the Goldenvoice CEO and founder's offices. from Coachella, Paul Tollett.

The same source told the publication that other major festivals, such as Governor's Ball, Shaky Knees and Austin City Limits are at risk , since there are no sanitary conditions to carry them out and the artists have not been able to confirm dates due to the constant changes.
“It is going to be a great challenge for artists to decide because multiple factors always come into play. What's the paycheck like, what's the timing like? … Most, if not all, are watching what Coachella does. A lot of people are going to wait to see what they do before they really solidify their plans and have to compete with the artists or renegotiate, “he explained.
Despite the refusal that those closest to the Coachella festival refused to comment on this issue, another source told the publication that “he would not be surprised” if the promoters of the famous event ends up changing everything until 2022.
The only one who has spoken on the subject has been Mark Scott, administrator of the city of Indio and where the long-awaited musical event takes place year after year.
According to this official, both his team and the organizers are doing their best to carry out the festival: “ We know that Goldenvoice is driven by the desire to offer a quality experience, so safety is a big part of what they do … I wouldn't be surprised if they had to postpone it again. “

The Coachella festival has been postponed more than once this 2020 due to the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus pandemic.
Coachella was going to be held in April and was postponed until October to try to overcome the pandemic, but in the end the efforts of the promoter Goldenvoice were of no use and the coronavirus will prevent the Californian desert from hosting this massive and influential festival this year.
Riverside County authorities in California, United States, announced the cancellation of the event arguing that the coronavirus health crisis makes such events impossible for now, in which tens of thousands of people gather.
“I am concerned as signs are mounting that COVID-19 could worsen in the fall,” said Riverside County Public Health Officer Dr. Cameron Kaiser.
Coachella, which in 2019 celebrated its twentieth anniversary, this year had Rage Against the Machine, Frank Ocean and Travis Scott as headliners.
