Mexico advances in the reopening of activities. Now, directors of the Nuevo León teams will meet in October to standardize health protocols for the return of the public to stadiums and sports venues.
This was advanced by Sergio Ganem Velázquez , president of the National Professional Basketball League (LNBP). He specified that there is great interest for the return of the fans by Tigres and Rayados from Liga MX, Sultanes in the Mexican Pacific League (LMP) and Fuerza Regia in basketball.
“We agreed that we were going to meet all the directors of the professional teams of Nuevo León, including fast soccer, to tie the protocols of professional sports. We will hold a press conference before the end of this month to announce how and when the stadium openings would be, ”he said at a press conference.

The manager pointed out that he met with Manuel de la O Cavazos , secretary of health for the state of Nuevo León. He pointed out that the COVID-19 epidemic in the North Sultana is progressing positively.
“In Nuevo León, the curve has behaved like a plateau, that is, infections have not increased . We have barely three days that the infections have dropped a little, as has the number of people who are hospitalized, “he said.
Despite the encouraging numbers, the also president of the Citizen Sports Council of the state rejected that Fuerza Regia will have people in the LNBP regular season . “We will not allow access to the general public. It is a decision made ”, he sentenced.

“We will evaluate the possibility that, if we have municipal and state authorization, we could take advantage of it every time the team qualifies for the Playoffs,” Ganem Velázquez stressed.
As for the LNBP, the manager pointed out that this Monday he had a meeting between the participating teams. He explained that at the moment there will be no fans in the enclosures , although he did not close the doors in the postseason.
“It is difficult for teams to control the public , for example in a room for 5,000 people. With a capacity of 30%, it is very complex to make people understand that they have to have their mask on all the time or that they keep their distance ”, he explained.
Sergio Ganem reiterated that in the Basketball League they do want an audience in their matches. However, he recalled the situation in which Mexico finds itself, where coronavirus infections almost exceed 800,000 patients.

“We do want an audience. We will see when, how much and how, but, for now, until we have certainty, we will not allow public access to the venues . It is not worth risking the public, or the players, or the season, “he said.
Finally, he said that he resents the lack of fans in the stadiums. However, he stressed that he prefers to miss people, than to have them close and to have some fatality due to irresponsibility.
“I miss the fans, the sponsors and everyone. But I prefer to miss them for a little while, to miss them all my life and to know that because of us they got infected and someone died ”, he concluded.
