International agencies are considering the Los Ríos region to receive cruise ships. Meanwhile, the Valdivia Maritime Governor confirmed the arrival of new vessels with foreign passengers, which in the opinion of unions could be the beginning of a new type of tourism in the area.
In less than a week, two cruise ships arrived in Corral Bay, with more than 60 and 100 passengers each, who visited the Valdivian jungle, toured the Nature Sanctuary and visited Valdivia museums.
The arrival of new vessels is expected for January, February and March, as confirmed by the deputy maritime governor of Valdivia, frigate captain Francisco Arias.

Improve coordination and tourist offer
The vice president of the Valdivia River Tourism Association, Rodrigo Lovera, highlighted that Valdivia is being seen by international agencies to bring cruise ships and thus open this market, indicating that although the programs of trips are short and with specific visits, urges greater preparation for the reception and offer different activities related to culture and local attractions.
