Executives from Grupo Linda , Victorina, La Famosa, Molinos Modernos and Induban agreed to invest some 7 million 700 thousand pesos for the refurbishment of the Las Yayitas Baseball Stadium and the construction of the Parque Recreativo El Carrizal in the province of Azua.
The contribution of the businessmen will be carried out through the program “Recreational parks: from the industry to the community”, an initiative promoted by the Office of the First Lady and the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and MSMEs (MICM).
Minister Víctor -Ito- Bisonó, together with businessmen Manuel Corripio, executive vice president of Grupo Corripio; Félix García, president of Grupo Linda; Alejandra Betancourt, financial director of Molinos Modernos; Manuel Pozo Perelló, executive president of Industrias Banilejas (Induban), and Pablo De los Santos, director of Manufacturing at La Famosa, signed a memorandum of understanding at the ministry’s headquarters.

Bisonó he explained that the initiative “seeks to bring industries closer to the community through sports and recreation, which is an axis promoted by the First Lady, Raquel Arbaje, so that girls , children and adolescents have recreational spaces”.
In this way, as explained by the public servant in a statement, the productive development of the industries will also be reflected in in the communities where they operate, through sponsorship and the construction of these spaces.
Likewise, the minister valued the contribution of companies to the national economy: “If we have industries whose trajectory speaks for itself; alone, we also count on their social responsibility, will and effort to commit to the development of their nearby communities”, he affirmed.
For their part, the businessmen welcomed the The launch of this initiative that will facilitate, through the State, the way in which they execute their social responsibility programs by sponsoring and contributing to the construction or refurbishment of recreational parks in communities close to them.
Community spaces
As part of the project, the Victorina, Grupo Linda and La Famosa agribusinesses will intervene and refurbish the stadium Las Yayitas baseball complex, located in the Las Lomas de Azua Municipal District, with an approximate investment of approximately RD$4.9 million.
While Induban and Molinos Modernos will build ;n a recreational park in the District Mun icipal El Carrizal, with the contribution of RD$2.8 million.
