Eric Clapton, a critic coronavirus vaccines and pandemic restrictions, tested positive for COVID-19 and canceled two upcoming concerts in Europe.
Clapton’s shows on Tuesday in Zurich and Wednesday in Milan will be rescheduled, it was announced. on their Facebook page and their official site. The 77-year-old rocker tested positive after his concert at London’s Royal Albert Hall on May 8.
“Eric is also & á; anxious to avoid passing on any infection to anyone in his band, crew, promoters, staff and of course his fans,” the statement said. He hopes to resume the tour with two concerts in Bologna, Italy, starting on May 20.

“It is very frustrating that, having avoided COVID during the lockdown and during the period in which the travel restrictions were applied, Eric has succumbed to COVID at this time,” the letter adds.
The English artist, 77, has expressed skepticism about the COVID-19 vaccine in the past. In 2020, he and Van Morrison released an anti-lockdown song titled “Stand and Deliver” with the lyrics: “Do you want to be a free man or do you want to be a slave?”. He also lashed out. a year later with the song “This Has Gotta Stop”.
Clapton received the award. AstraZeneca’s two vaccines against the virus, but he said he had “severe reactions” and he feared that he would never play again. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) say that clinical trials have found the vaccine to be safe.
