F1 2021 rolled out onto the track on July 16, although its PlayStation 5 version appears to have encountered Hamilton’s wheel in the middle of a fast corner. And, this time at least, the FIA is going to take real action. The Formula 1 simulator of Codemasters and Electronic Arts receives this week a new patch on all its platforms with which, among other things, ray tracing has been temporarily disabled on PS5 for problems.
As Codemasters explains in the patch notes, F1 2021 update 1.04 disable ray tracing on PS5 while improving its implementation, given that its use caused problems for some users: “We are aware of some instability in the game for a limited number of PS5 users regarding ray tracing. Thus, we have made the difficult decision to temporarily disable it to aid stability. “
“We intend to reactivate it as soon as possible, and we will offer more information in due course “, concludes the study. Codemasters does not specify what these stability problems caused by ray tracing on PS5, so we only have to wait for more information about it. In addition to this, F1 2021 patch 1.04 fixes an issue present on all platforms, which corrupted the saved when editing the design of a car from within the My Team HQ.
