Fifteen Feyenoord supporters are no longer allowed to appear in the stands of the Rotterdam football club for the time being. Feyenoord has given them a stadium ban because they intimidated board members and others involved in the plans for a new stadium two months ago. The club will let you know on Wednesday to RTV Rijnmond.
The group of fans turned up at the beginning of June at the homes of, among others, Feyenoord director Mark Koevermans and architect Ard Buijsen, where they banged on the windows and started insulting chants. They had torches with them. The supporters were checked by the police, but as they had not committed a crime, they were allowed to go again. According to RTV Rijnmond, the KNVB is still looking at whether the fifteen fans should also be banned from football stadiums nationwide.

Buijsen is an outspoken supporter of Feyenoord City, a large area development project in South Rotterdam, which should also include a successor to De Kuip, which has been the home of Feyenoord since 1937.

The plan (cost for the new stadium: 441 million euros) has been the subject of years of haggling and discussion. Part of the Feyenoord supporters are fiercely opposed and want the club to continue to play in De Kuip. Financing the project is also a tricky subject. In May, the Rotterdam audit office said it would be irresponsible for the city council to approve the plans. The council has now set a deadline: both the financing and the construction contract must be finalized by 31 December.
