The front tires and compounds used remain unchanged, while the modified rear construction features greater cornering stiffness at high loads and greater vertical stiffness. The decision to introduce the new tires for the remaining 2/3 of the championship is the final result of the discussions arising from the incidents of the last Azerbaijan Grand Prix. On that occasion, Lance Stroll’s Aston Martin and Max Verstappen’s Red Bull were victims ofexplosion of the left rear tire, which resulted in two particularly dangerous accidents. The new tires, which the drivers and teams have already been able to test in Austria, are more robust and therefore safer.
