The Copa América 2021 will be played without an audience: local authorities rejected Conmebol’s request and Argentina-Brazil will be behind closed doors. As it transpired, it would only have been possible if there was only a local audience.
Conmebol wanted the Copa América final between Argentina and Brazil to be played with the public. The details and the possibilities of this happening were jettisoned after the decision of the local authorities.

With such a special final between Brazil and Argentina at the Maracana stadium, Conmebol intends that a minimum percentage of fans can participate in this match that is unmatched in South America. However, those illusions were truncated after the decision of the Prefecture of Rio was known.
Beyond being optimistic, the local authorities did not accept the request (in which there would be no ticket sales, leaving 2000 tickets for each selection and more than 3000 for the organization). In this way, the Maracana stadium will not have fans in its stands, as it happened with the other stages of the Copa América.
