From October 1 of this year, Finland will expand the issuance of visas for two categories of citizens – those with an expired multivisa and those going on a business trip. Pasi Tuominen, Director of the Consular Services Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Finland, announced this at a press conference on September 14.
“We made a decision that we will expand the acceptance of visa applications at our visa centers in Russia, starting from October 1. Visa Application Centers will start accepting visa applications from two new groups of applicants. These are those who have a business purpose of travel, the second category is all applicants who have an expired multiple-entry Schengen visa issued by Finland for a period of at least two years, ”Tuominen said.
Tuominen added that the reception of citizens will be carried out by appointment. He noted that a person applying for a visa will take on the responsibility of checking the grounds for entering the country.
“Expansion of visa applications does not change the current restrictions on entry to Finland, decisions to cancel or change the restrictions on entry have not yet been made,” said the Director of the Consular Services Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Finland.

Tuominen clarified that the new strategy of the Finnish government provides for the removal of restrictions within the country after reaching a share of 80% of the population vaccinated against coronavirus.
Earlier that day, Israeli Tourism Minister Yoel Razvozov said that the first Russian tourists will be able to enter Israel in October this year. To enter, you will need to present a negative coronavirus test and a serological antibody test.
