The former candidate for mayor of Amecameca, Juan Bautista, was shot to death near his home and a business located in the center of the municipality.
The events occurred in the parking lot of the Municipal Market and the Church of La Asunción, where the “Popular” pharmacy, owned by the businessman, is also located. apparently he got out of his vehicle and two men were already waiting for him at the site.

Neighbors assured that during the early hours of this Sunday they heard gunshots and when they left they found the body of a man with various wounds.
Municipal police officers and elements of the emergency forces attended the scene, who tried to give him first aid, but he died at the scene due to the shots.
The man was identified by neighbors as Juan Bautista Morales Corral, who Last June he ran as a representative of the Morena-Nueva Alianza coalition for the presidency of this Magical Town.
First responders reported that 15 percussion shells were found at the site and the politician had bullet wounds to the head and chest.
Elements of the Attorney General’s Office of the State of Mexico (FGJEM) also arrived at the site to initiate the corresponding investigations to clarify the facts and find the person or persons responsible.
According to the Preliminary Election Results Program, Juan Bautista obtained 22.69 percent of the votes only after PRI winner Ivette Topete who obtained a result of 29.05 percent.
