On video wearing a helmet, Poirier hits a sparring opponent so he drops to his back. An anonymous resistance opponent has no main protection.
Covington stated in his tweetthat Poirier is protected from head to toe and the other has no protection, “and no brain cells anymore”.
“Dustin Poirier, good dude? Or evil? You decide, ”Covington writes.
The topic sparked a debate on Twitter about whether the sparring resistor is too weak and why the helmet is not worn.
Poirier himself commented briefly on the subject, stating that his opponent has 20 professional matches.
