The Gatineau Hospital could convert to a community care facility when the new hospital is built in the area.
This is provided for in the final version of the CISSS de l’Outaouais clinical plan, which was submitted to the government.

The Gatineau Hospital would maintain the emergency room, day surgeries and mental health units.
As for the new 600-bed hospital, it should see the light of day in the Hull sector or in the Aylmer sector.
The CISSS de l’Outaouais wishes to find land by the end of 2021 or even the beginning of 2022.
