The company launched a new integrated experience that includes all of Google’s productivity applications, such as Gmail, Calendar, Drive and Meet

Google Workspace is the new productivity tool that replaces G Suite.
It is a new proposal to integrate video, chat, mail, files and tasks tools. Google now announced in a statement that “this integrated experience” is now available to all paid Google Workspace customers.
The company also noted that in the coming months it will offer this experience to the general public so that users can use tools such as Gmail, Chat, Meet, Documents and Tasks to manage the family budget or organize a celebration, among other things.

In the coming weeks, Google Workspace users will be able to create and collaborate on a document with guests from a chat room, allowing them to work and share content with people outside the company. Additionally, in Documents, Sheets, and Presentations, it is now possible to preview a linked file without having to open a new tab, allowing users less time to switch from one application to another.
With this tool, when mentioning a person with the at symbol (@), the system will display the contact information, provide the context and even suggest actions, such as adding them to the contact list or sending them an email.
The company also said that in the coming months it will introduce Meet’s “ picture in picture ” mode to Gmail and Chat, so that users can see and hear the people they work with even remotely.

“Whereas before we could only see the document we were presenting, now we will have access to all those valuable non-verbal signals that are only perceived when we see the face of our interlocutor, ” the statement highlighted.
Clarified that education customers will still be able to access the tools through G Suite for Education , which includes Classroom, Assignments, Gmail, Calendar, Drive, Docs, Sheets, Presentations, and Meet . Additionally, G Suite for Nonprofits will continue to be available to entities that qualify for the Google for Nonprofits program.
On the other hand, Google will change the icons of its Gmail, Drive, Calendar and Meet tools , as well as Documents, Spreadsheets and Presentations , in the coming weeks .
Currently, Google Workspace has more than 2 billion users globally. “There is data from Global Workplace Analytics that states that 80% of the workforce wants flexibility to work from home at least part of the time,” Rodrigo Ponce, General Manager of Google Cloud for Argentina, assured Infobae .
According to a study by Forrester Research, the application of artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning to Google Workspace tools allows users to save time, up to 171 hours a year, or about 21 days.
” It is an internal cultural change that companies need to face to generate a dynamic where information is shared instantly and knowledge is the result of collaboration between the people who are part of the organization, ” added Ponce.
