A couple of days after the start of the 2021-2022 school year, the delegation in León of the Secretariat of Education in Guanajuato reported that about 217 schools are still under maintenance.
The delegate of the Secretariat of Education of Guanajuato, Fernando Trujillo, specified that 107 schools were vandalized, reporting damage to their facilities and theft of materials.

He added that of the schools that are undergoing rehabilitation, at least 110 required maintenance services for various reasons; the official said that so far the rehabilitation of the schools in the shoemaker municipality has required an investment of 63 million pesos.

The delegate of education in León, mentioned that through this maintenance, basic services such as water, electricity, drainage, wiring installations are being attended, in order to ensure the operation of the classrooms once the students are received.
At the state level, the educational authorities report 876 schools that will not be able to receive students, due to the lack of infrastructure and complete educational templates.
