In the midst of patrols carried out in the center of the city of Coquimbo, a man threatened to kill the municipal inspectors. Authorities indicated that the subject was carrying a butcher knife.
At around 01:00 this Tuesday morning and while they were conducting a patrol in the center of the city of Coquimbo, between Portales and Melgarejo streets, < strong>Public Security inspectors were threatened with death by a man who was carrying a knife.
It should be mentioned that hours before this subject had fled to leave two gas cylinders in middle of the street.
Seeing his integrity threatened, the inspectors chased the subject through the central streets of Coquimbo and, at the same time, informed the Carabineros.
It was thus that, together with police personnel, a few minutes later the antisocial was arrested on Juan Antonio Ríos street. For this, the support of the Telesurveillance Cameras that reported his movements at all times was vital.

David Díaz, director of Public Security of the Municipality of Coquimbo, reported that the man “carried a large butcher knife and began to insult and threaten to kill our municipal inspectors”.
So too He mentioned that “ our officials promptly called the Carabineros and carried out remote monitoring, always protecting their physical integrity. After the arrival of the police personnel, they managed to reduce this person and verify the existence of this sharp weapon.”
He added that the procedure is part of the collaborative work between Carabineros and the Directorate of Public Security, through of coordination, mixed patrols and work on the ground with the residents of Coquimbo, “to keep our city with the least amount of crime in the region,” said Díaz.
After the arrest , the antisocial was brought to justice for the crimes of threats and carrying a knife. Meanwhile, the videos from the cameras were delivered to the Public Ministry.
