The birth of the joint venture Bugatti Rimac LLC has also begun to outline what the future of the French brand could be. The partnership between the Volkswagen-controlled brand and the Croatian company founded by Mate Rimac lays the foundations for a future electrification of the Bugatti range which, however, will not distort the DNA of the transalpine car manufacturer and will not even overlap the Balkan brand. This was confirmed by Mate Rimac himself, also announcing the arrival of the first electric Bugatti.
Bugatti, the future of the range is outlined
“I can confirm that within this decade there will be a fully electric Bugatti but by 2030 there will also be Bugatti combustion engine models with different levels of electrification. – explained Mate Rimac – I am a car enthusiast. We are not going to just recycle what we have, we are not redesigning the Chiron or hybridizing it. We are developing a product completely because we think it is the best way to start this journey together. That product will have an internal combustion engine. ”

Mate Rimac himself then ruled out any potential internal conflict over the positioning of the models between his company and the French carmaker: “Bugatti is about heritage and craftsmanship, Rimac instead focuses on technology. It is as if Bugatti is an analog Swiss watch and Rimac cars are an Apple watch. We can have two parallel and very distinct product lines. What some people expect to happen is that we take a Nevera and put a Bugatti logo on it and call it Bugatti. This will not happen for any reason. “
