All classic car enthusiasts raise their antennas when they hear about Mercedes-Benz 190E 2.5-16 Evolution II. A well-recognizable, historic, sporty captivating car. Well, now a 1990 specimen from the series approval, is on sale for just over 400 thousand euros (475 thousand dollars). This is the 473 of the 502s built to allow Mercedes to compete in the DTM taking advantage of the regulations of the time.
The salesman (Speedart Motorsports) explains that the car with only 18,000 kilometers to the credit, chassis number 738813, was completed at the Sindelfingen plant in the last week of May 1990 and transported to the designated dealer Autohaus Santelmann GmbH in the city of Lüneburg, in Lower Saxony. The car was ordered with the desirable “Komfortpaket” at the time of the very first purchase, and delivery took place on July 4, 1990. After driving less than 10,000 kilometers, the Evo II passed into the hands of a Portuguese buyer, and was moved to the city. of Vila Nova de Gaia, on the northwest coast of Portugal, during the first quarter of 1993. The car was kept on site until 2015. During its 23 years of custody in the Lusitanian state, the Mercedes accumulated approximately 8,000 kilometers and was kept in an air-conditioned garage.
In the year 2015 the car was exhibited by the Dutch classic car dealer Auto Leitner during the Techno Classica fair in Essen. The indisputable provenance and spectacular condition of number 473 attracted the attention of a Greek business executive and keeper of one of the most important Mercedes collections in Europe. The specimen was delivered to the northern suburbs of Athens, with subsequent careful maintenance by a renowned Athenian Mercedes specialist. The last owner acquired the car privately in 2019, transporting it to You love me, where it is currently parked.
The sale of chassis 738813, with engine equipped with AMG PowerPack, is accompanied by several elements of interest: original manuals, service booklet, Evolution II supplement, spare keys with anti-theft remote control, tool kit, jack and all the equipment provided by the manufacturer upon delivery.
