In this sense, the first day of the collective tests in Misano represented a first, interesting, test bench for the eight-time world champion. The sensations experienced by the Spaniard on his Honda, however, were not all completely positive, as he himself revealed.

“We tested a bike with some new components and it was very interesting – explained the six-time MotoGP champion, author of the 15th time – there was a lot of work to be done. I am happy with what we have done, but there is certainly still a lot of work to be done. There have been some positives and some negatives about what we have tried, but we need more time to understand everything. We were especially careful not to push too hard and take risks. We will continue to try“.

I was one of the few to do it. The most important improvement, however, was in our race pace – he added – it went much better than the weekend. We worked a lot on the ideas we had during some races, but didn’t have time to work on over the weekend. Sometimes when you try these kinds of things over the weekend you can lose your way, so a test is the right time to try them “.
