The municipality de Tirúa dismissed the head of the Secplan after complaints from four officials for harassment and sexual abuse. The Sernameg filed a complaint.
The Municipality of Tirúa dismissed the head of the Communal Planning Secretariat (Secplan), in the framework of a summary ordered by the mayor José Linco, after receiving thecomplaint for sexual harassment and abuse from four officials.
The resolution was confirmed by the municipal administrator, Eugenio Gómez, who pointed out that after an appeal by the now former official, Felipe Peña Martínez, was rejected, the final decision rests with the Comptroller’s Office.
p>“The prosecutor’s proposal was dismissal. The mayor took up said proposal and currently, at least on the part of the municipality, it is settled,” the municipal administrator explained.

The lawyer explained that for the municipality the dismissal had already been decided by the municipality, even though a new head of Secplan had already been appointed, but without ruling out that the Comptroller’s Office could decide to revoke that resolution and reopen the proceedings.
The complainant officials are supported by Sernameg and the Women’s Seremi, Elizabeth Segura, who even met with those affected.
