Tesla has been fighting for months against the German bureaucracy, which added to the environmental protests caused several delays in the start of the assembly work inside the plant. As Reuters recalled, the factory was initially supposed to open in July of this year, but the deadline was postponed to the end of 2021, with some reports even stating that production would not start until January next year. On Musk’s side he also took sides Armin Laschet, the conservative candidate destined to succeed Angela Merkel as chancellor, who harshly criticized the German bureaucracy: “Sometimes one gets the impression that inventing something new is technologically easier than dismantling the bureaucracy in Germany.” A similar thought to that of Elon Musk, who still hopes to start production within a couple of months.
