A team of Russian scientists has synthesized chemical compounds that can stop the neuronal degeneration in Alzheimer’s, in Parkinson’s and in other serious brain diseases. These substances can provide a breakthrough in the treatment of neurodegenerative diseases.
The study has been published on European Journal of MedicinalChemistry .
Neuronal degeneration: what are these chemical compounds?
New molecules of the classes pyrrolyl And indolylazine trigger intracellular mechanisms to combat one of the main causes of brain disease and neuronal degeneration: an excess of so-called amyloid structures that accumulate in the human brain with age. Experts from the I.Institute of Cytology of the Russian Academy of Sciences, ofInstitute of Organic Synthesis of the Ural Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences and the Ural Federal University (UrFU).
