The death toll from a road accident in Nigeria on Tuesday is particularly dramatic. At least 37 people have been killed in a collision of several buses, in the northeast of the country, announced the authorities.
The accident happened near the town of Maiduguri, when two commercial buses collided head-on and burst into flames. A third bus then hit them, said Utten Boyi, head of the Security Agency; road trip to Borno State.

“Unrecognizable”victims

Road accidents are frequent in Nigeria, where the condition of the roads has deteriorated; in recent weeks at following heavy rains and floods, the worst in ten years in the country. Earlier on Tuesday, 17 people were killed and four injured when their bus crashed into a truck near Abuja, the capital, reported local media. On Saturday, nine people drowned when their overloaded vehicle drove off. dived in a dam after a tire burst near Kano in the north of the country, according to local officials.
