The Joy-con Drift is one of Nintendo’s biggest problems right now, and there appear to be no plans to fix this bug in the near future. With the arrival of the new OLED Switch just a few months away, many are wondering whether or not the console controls will be saved from the horrible fate that lies ahead. Faced with these questions, the Big N has decided to give an answer.
Recently, The Verge, as well as other outlets, questioned Nintendo about the Joy-Con on the OLED Switch. Although the Japanese company had made it clear that these controls will be similar to the ones we find today, some hope that this refers to functionality and design, leaving the necessary space to correct the infamous drifting. This is what the Big N commented on the matter:
“The configuration and functionality of the Joy-Con will not change with the Nintendo Switch (OLED model). The configuration and functionality is the same as that of the Joy-con controllers for the Nintendo Switch console. At Nintendo, we pride ourselves on creating quality products and continually improve them. We are aware of reports that some Joy-Con have not responded correctly. We want our consumers to have fun with the Nintendo Switch, and if something falls short of this goal, we always encourage them to visit. http://support.nintendo.com so that we can help ”.

Although this response manages to reinforce comments previously made by the company, no concrete answer is offered to the question of drifting. With the arrival of the OLED Switch to the international market on October 8, it is only a matter of waiting a couple of months before having a clear answer to this question.
