One person with injuries, transferred to a health center, roadblocks, a dozen homes affected and Red Alert in 10 communes, is the balance of Onemi for the forest fires in the central area of the country.
Tonight the National Emergency Office (Onemi) delivered an assessment of the forest fires in the central area of the country.
According to the agency, there are currently 11 fires that are kept in combat and 36 controlled.
They also pointed out that there are 10 communes under Red Alert, as a result of the danger that the accidents represent for residential areas.

According to Onemi, the fires have concentrated in the central area of the country. Thus, the communes of Quilpué, Quintero and Viña del Mar in the Valparaíso region meet with Red Alert. /strong>.
The communes of Melipilla and San Pedro, Metropolitan region; Lolol in the O’Higgins region; San Clemente, Romeral and Curicó, in the Maule region.
Mauricio Tapia, director(s) of Onemi, said regarding the fire in the Metropolitan region that “we have the Altos de Popeta incident in the Melipilla commune consuming an area of 160 hectares”.
“Due to this fire, a cell phone alert message was activated three times to evacuate the Mandinga, Altos de Popeta, Juan de Popeta, Callejón Ovejería and Callejón Santa Cecilia sectors,” he added.
“We reiterate to the people who have not yet evacuated to go to the Mandinga court and Codigua prairies sectors, respectively. At the moment one injured person is reported, who was referred to a care center”, he said.
In addition, he commented that “they have established cuts in the G60 route for reasons of facilitating emergency vehicles. The number of homes affected is being evaluated by technical agencies on the ground”.
The Onemi report revealed that in the Quintero commune, Valparaíso region, the Las Gaviotas condominium forest fire remains active, “consuming an area of 140 hectares, affecting 9 homes and a shed under evaluation”, said the Director (s).
Finally, in the Viña del Mar commune, Botanical Gardens sector, “it remains active consuming an area of 86 hectares”.
