A new fatal accident in an electric scooter. This Thursday morning at; 7 a.m. Paris, “boulevard des Italiens, a scooter driver hit a van in circulation. He is deceased,” to AFP a police source. The judicial accident processing service is seized of the investigation.
If more and more French people use electric scooters, mortality of users is increasing year on year: 22 deaths recorded last year, compared to 10 in 2019 and seven in 2020.

The City of Paris is also studying the possible ban on self-service scooters the expiry of the current contract at the end of February 2023. Asked by AFP Thursday, the first deputy Emmanuel Grégoire indicated that there were “still exchanges” to this subject but that Mayor Anne Hidalgo was leaning towards banning them.
