Although the latter, although he is part of the PDG caucus, he is not a militant of the party, as highlighted by Parisi himself, who harshly criticized the support for the ruling parliamentarian.
In fact, the leader of the caucus, Yovana Ahumada, made the unilateral decision to suspend the deputies who supported Mirosevic from all the commissions, amid accusations against the party leadership.
Franco Parisi asked sanctions for deputies who voted for Mirosevic
In this regard, the community’s former presidential candidate, Franco Parisi, described as an “error” what happened, asking for sanctions against those involved.
“Lessons must always be learned, there was a tremendous mistake here, this could have remained internal, but the vote of these three deputies harms the country and a lot” ;, he sentenced.
“I think there have to be sanctions, it’s logical, it’s unavoidable”, added Parisi.
“They did nothing, nothing that broke any law or rule of political parties or the party. Why? Because the voting decision is individual for each deputy and there can be no party order, however, the decision they made harms the party, because we see the flight of people from the PDG and it also harms Chile”, he insisted.
“How did we come to make this mistake? The entire PDG was clear that they could not vote for Vlado ‘Humbertito’ Mirosevic, because he is an ‘Octobrist’, he validated the violence, he was for plurinationality, he was about to give Arica to the Incas”, assured Parisi.
In that line, he assured that “ There has to be a sanction, most likely one of them will be asked to resign, I don’t know.
“I have no interference there, but it is logical and the comments made publicly by some deputies have to be analyzed, because they hurt. They mishandled the situation”, he criticized.
“I appreciate each one of them, but here they damaged the party because they put their interests first,” he lashed out.
Finally, reiterated his criticism of the new president of the Chamber, assuring that “I don’t like him badly, he’s nice, kind of weak, nothing personal”.
“The typical revolutionary ‘cuiquito’ of Nike sneakers, Starbucks and iPhone 14, but I think it’s bad for Chile. He is not very smart, a normal guy, but he is going to make it easier for President Boric to do political, economic, and social nonsense,” he concluded.
