Existing owner-occupied homes were 16.3 percent more expensive in July than twelve months previously. That is the largest price increase since October 2000, when owner-occupied homes were also 16.3 percent more expensive than the year before. The price increase will continue in the summer, as a result of which houses are now more than 74 percent more expensive than in June 2013.
