Perez hadn’t had a shutout since April 23, 2014, when he didn’t allow a shutout. Oakland race. passed his first seven seasons with Texas and played then with Minnesota and Boston.
This year, he returned to to the Rangers.
Pérez withdrew 12 of his first 14 rivals, before the Dominican Jeremy Peña got the first hit for Houston, in the fifth inning, with a single with two outs.
