A Saints Row different from the original for some.
During the Gamescom Opening Night Live a first trailer of Saints Row: the series is in fact about to return with a reboot, but only the video shown for the occasion is already displeasing long-time fans. On the official Volition channel, the trailer has more than double “dislikes” compared to “likes”.
Fan criticism is essentially directed at the cast and plot of the new game, which replaces the originals with a more inclusive group. In addition to the new protagonist who is a short-haired black woman, the band is made up of young characters. Despite this, Volition has made it clear that it will not change its view of the game based on the initial reaction of fans to the trailer.
Saints Row’s official Twitter account replied: “We will not back down on this game. We understand, it’s new and it’s a shock to fans, but it’s a reboot like never before“.
