“It is a ‘front limited’ track and we have struggled so far on this type of track because we suffer from severe degradation on the front tires. We have been looking for solutions after France but I fear that we will have to face this type of problem here too ”.Carlos Sainz is aware of the difficulties that Ferrari could face on the Silverstone track during the British Grand Prix, the tenth round of the 2021 F1 championship.
How the Silverstone Sprint Qualification works
This weekend the Sprint Qualification will debut, a race on Saturday of 17 laps to be covered in half an hour that will define the starting grid for the real Grand Prix scheduled for Sunday. As a result of this novelty, the qualifications aimed at defining the starting grid of the Sprint Qualification will be brought forward to tomorrow, with only one free practice session available before pushing to the maximum in search of Q3 and the front rows. “It will be important to make the most of the only free practice session tomorrow morning, because it will be necessary to prepare the qualifying that will define the starting grid for the race on Saturday afternoon – underlined Carlos Sainz – in Maranello we have organized several meetings for this weekend with the whole team, and I am curious to find out how the various sessions on the track will actually take place ”.
