The dogs Perla and Keka have lived all their lives in a small pen, with the food they need to make it to the next day
The story comes from the province of León, Spain and tells of two little dogs Perla and Keka. Some pet owners, just like that of these two furry friends, believe that giving them a bowl of food and a fleeting caress is enough to keep them happy.
Mother and daughter have lived their entire lives in a concrete fence, never seeing the road or a green lawn, not knowing what was beyond those walls. Their master was sick and could no longer give them what little they needed. Over time he also stopped filling that bowl with food and giving them a simple caress. And so they ended up at our shelter.
This the story of the volunteers of the refuge Asociación Protectora Animales y Plantas.

Once they found themselves in the cold box of the structure, Perla and Keka, 6 and 5 years old, did not give up because they still had the most important thing: the mutual support. Precisely for this reason they have shown themselves affectionate with those unknown boys, who have begun to take care of them day after day. Their story has spread on social networks and the volunteers are hoping for one joint adoption.
Sometimes we believe that it is enough to feed an animal or pat it on the head a couple of times a day to make it happy. If you want to have a pet, you must be aware that it must become a member of the family. It is necessary to give him warm when he is cold or allow him to stay cool when he is hot. We have to let him follow us around and wake us up in the morning with his sweet licks. We must allow them to see us laugh, cry, scream, get angry or just talk about our life with them.
