Italy will also have its own Gigafactory for electric car batteries, precisely a Termoli. Carlos Tavares confirmed the construction of an EV accumulator factory during the Stellantis EV Day, with the new site that will serve to offer essential technologies to the local brands of the group born from the merger between FCA and PSA which will not be in Turin as hoped for by trade unions and a part of Italian politics but in Southern Italy, in the heart of Molise.
Stellantis EV Day, 30 billion for electrification
“We have reached an agreement with the Italian government so that the new Gigafactory of Stellantis can be born in Italy, in Termoli”Carlos Tavares announced during Stellantis EV Day. The birth of the battery factory in Molise will be part of the group’s offensive, with an investment of over 30 billion euros for the electrification of all 14 brands.
